Research Intern and Summer Student Positions

Interns and students will gain hands-on experience in clinical and translational research focused on opioid use disorder, concurrent mental health and substance use disorders, and complex pain. Responsibilities may include:

  • Study coordination and data collection

  • Data cleanup and analysis

  • Manuscript writing

  • Knowledge translation and dissemination

Work is in-person at Vancouver General Hospital and UBC. The expected commitment is a minimum of 2 days per week (9:00am – 4:00pm). Positions run May–August 2026, with flexibility for earlier start dates or extension depending on availability and performance.

The Azar Lab is inviting applications for Research Intern (paid) and Summer Student (volunteer) positions for Summer 2026. Research Interns are expected to have more research experience and the ability to work with greater independence. The application process is the same for both roles.
